Last May 8th we had the chance to broadcast Ascesa (Preludio), the recorded edit of Nico Vascellari's homonymous performance at the Teatro Civico in Sassari, Sardinia. The sound piece and performance are the last chapters of his residency on the island, where - accompanied by curators Micaela Deiana and Giangavino Pazzola - Vascellari has investigated the traditional religious procession known as Faradda, by delving into its most performative dimension on the edge between sound and movement, sacred and profane, individuality and collective experience.
This conversation with the artist and the two curators goes back to Vascellari's research and encounter with the Faradda tradition. The conversation is in Italian.
