Unspeakable items: for Bruce, Fred and Victoria

Unspeakable Items: for Bruce, Fred, and Victoria is an audio collage in which the synthetic voices for Macintosh computers Bruce, Fred and Victoria read some excerpts from some writings on gender and technology: I Enjoy Being A Girl of Rodgers and Hammerstein and writings on the repetition by Gertrude Stein.

Tara Rodgers earned an MFA in Electronic Music & Recording Media at Mills College in 2006. She uses the programming language SuperCollider to make metaphoric connections among data, oscillations, and patterns of living. Recent sound and video projects have been based on butterfly migrations and human population shifts.
Tara was a Visiting Professor of Sound at the Museum School in Boston in 2004-05, and a Canada-U.S. Fulbright scholar in 2006-07. She is a PhD student in Communication Studies at McGill University.
