Pietro Meloni, Ph.D - researcher at the Ethnology, Anthropology and Cultural Studies graduate school of the University of Siena - presents a lecture on the use of the body in contemporary art, from Gina Pane to Orlan, from David Nebreda to Stelarc, Otto Mühl, Hermann Nitsch and the Wiener Aktionismus.

Meloni’s lecture focuses on the use of the body, its pain, its role in modern rituals, it analyzes concepts of physical and technological obsolescence at the crossroads of body art, schizophrenia, therapy and social denunciation.
