Viktor Misiano is an independent curator, director of Moswow Art Magazine and curator of the Russian Pavilion at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005. He was invited by the Centro Pecci in Prato to curate a group show – Progressive Nostalgia – featuring the contemporary art scenes from Russia and the Independent Republics. He introduces us to the show and to the notion of nostalgia as the only way to reach a critical awarness of the present.
